Golden Books

A collaboration between Market Fit CCC and Help My Neighbour Society

Involving individuals (ages 50+) from Metro-Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas in writing activities that give them meaning, and income from royalties.

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted individuals (ages 50+) globally, affecting their mental health and wellness due to a lack of involvement in social activities and the inability to maintain social connections. Participation in meaningful activities and financial empowerment can greatly improve their mental health and quality of life.

Writers will receive mentoring and guidance, learning how to improve writing, grammar, and other relevant skills.

They will choose to write on one of the following topics:

  1. Healthy aging
  2. Financial empowerment
  3. Finding personal meaning
  4. Active retirement
  5. Fostering healthy social connections
  6. The Art of Grandparenting
  7. Legacy building

Successful writers will have their work compiled as chapters in one of seven books, with one book for each topic. The books will be available for purchase in printed and electronic format. Sales of physical and electronic books will have split royalties between the contributors.

We would hope that this Project contributes towards the financial stability of individuals (ages 50+).

The Golden Books Project will enrich the lives of both writers and readers for years to come.
